Such an amazing day.  I don't think I've been to a more interesting or simply perfect wedding.  I loved every moment of it!

We started off with a free morning; Hap and Jeff went for a round of golf while the girls walked into the town of Gullane for a little sightseeing and lunch.  We happened upon a very old church (if you call the 11th century old) and then had a delightful bowl of soup.  I'm squishing this all together because it pales in comparison to the afternoon!!

I had that strange problem where I didn't want to get ready too early combined with the worry of not having enough time.  How soon do you put on the dress?  How does the fancy hat play in to the equation?  Is my eyeshadow too sparkly?  Shoot, I wish I had more tan on my legs!

In any case, it all worked out and Jeff had his kilt on in time and us girls had our hair curled and hats on with all the proper accessories.  Jeff was an usher and had to corral people to the correct side of the viewing area and then later make sure everyone was assembled correctly for photos (and keeping the riff raff out of the background).  He looked very cute in his kilt... I can't lie.

The wedding was gorgeous and I can honestly say I've never seen the bride looking more peaceful, calm, and totally beautiful.  So nice.  Then mingling, drinks, dinner, speeches, and the most fun and crazy dance party ever!  True Scottish dances with partners spinning and kilts flying!  So much fun.  I can't do justice to the evening, but I will say that it was 150% worth the ride over the ocean to attend.  I was so happy to be part of it, and it's a night our entire family will never forget.

Tomorrow we pack up and drive to St. Andrews - another adventure.  Until then I will just bask in a perfect evening.  :)
